A stunning estate lake with accommodation for four people

Beausoleil is all about offering the perfect carp fishing holiday in France for both anglers and their families and for couples. In addition to the exclusive lake hire, you will also get accommodation that perfectly suits your fishing holiday needs. The self-catering luxury lodge offers an idyllic and peaceful retreat and offers all the home comforts that you would expect, including free Wi-Fi. With two twin bedrooms, the cottage sleeps a maximum of four people.

Inside the lakeside accommodation

Wind in and unwind in total comfort

The main room is an open plan lounge / dining area / kitchen. It has large French doors leading to the south facing terrace, with fantastic views of the lake. The sumptuous large leather settee provides a comfortable sitting area to view the Freeview TV and DVD player.

The two bedrooms each contain two single beds with high quality mattresses, a built-in wardrobe and a bedside cabinet. We provide the bedding but please bring your own towels. Next to the bedrooms is the bathroom with bath/shower, basin and toilet.

The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped to a very high standard with a top end stove/oven, fridge freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle. You will find a full range of crockery, cutlery, cookware and cooking utensils. The dining area is complemented by a solid ash dining table and chairs.

At the other end of the house, you will find a utility room with a bait freezer and a washing machine, and the very popular games room with its pool table. Anglers also have access to a dedicated equipment store which provides plenty of extra storage space for your gear.

• Down by the lake, in Home swim, you will also find a picnic table which is perfect for preparing your rigs or dinner by the rods.

The fishing at Beausoleil offers the perfect combination of enjoyment and excitement but it's also a place where you can properly unwind and get away from it all. As you do not share the venue and facilities with anyone else, you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings in total peace and privacy.

You're in your own little world

Well what can I say, from start to finish without doubt one of the best places I've ever fished. The place itself is beautiful and secluded. You lock the big gates and you're in your own little world dedicated to fishing. The lodge is brilliant, everything you need and more. The pool table was much appreciated when the heavens opened. Matt and Irene make you so welcome with their enthusiasm for the place being quite infectious. And a final mention for Matt: I will forever be hand sharpening my hooks. Thank you, another tip learned and taken forward into my own fishing.

Couldn't have asked for better

What a cracking venue with cracking fish, surroundings and chalet. I've been carp fishing for 20 years and this has to be one of the most challenging and beautiful lakes I've fished. Can't wait to get back. The guys had a good result with the fishing and us ladies enjoyed the lovely lodge, very clean and comfortable couldn't have asked for better. Matt and Ren are very good hosts and were very helpful, booked for next year already.

Local hotels and B&Bs

Some guests like to arrive fully refreshed from their travels to France to start their fishing holiday and choose to arrive the day before. Others like to stay on and explore the area and heritage. If you are planning to do so, you can find all the local places to stay on the Laval Tourisme website. There are plenty of different options to choose from: a bed and breakfast in a mill, a gite on the Mayenne river, a character hotel or a campsite in the middle of nature.

Food and dining

If you like cooking, the accommodation is fully equipped to prepare everything from full English breakfast to roast dinners. There is a well-stocked village shop just minutes from the lodge in Le Pertre. There is also a larger supermarket only 10mn away. We'll have address and directions for these in the lodge. There are lots of restaurants in the towns of Laval and Chateau Gontier where you can treat yourself to the local specialities.
